Dans le paysage intellectuel moderne, la th\u00e9orie de l\u2019\u00e9volution est souvent pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e comme un fait scientifique incontestable. Pour nous, chr\u00e9tiens adventistes, qui lisons l\u2019histoire de nos origines dans le livre de la Gen\u00e8se, un dilemme se pose : comment concilier la foi et la science ? La r\u00e9ponse r\u00e9side dans la compr\u00e9hension de la nature m\u00eame de la th\u00e9orie de l\u2019\u00e9volution : est-elle une science d'observation exacte ou un r\u00e9cit bas\u00e9 sur le hasard, qui demande une foi tout aussi grande ?<\/span><\/p>\n

Cet article met en lumi\u00e8re les incoh\u00e9rences de la th\u00e9orie de Darwin, rappelle que certains scientifiques eux-m\u00eames l\u2019ont contest\u00e9e, et confronte ce r\u00e9cit incertain avec la vision biblique d\u2019une cr\u00e9ation ordonn\u00e9e, intentionnelle et parfaite de Dieu.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

La th\u00e9orie exige que la vie soit apparue spontan\u00e9ment \u00e0 partir de mati\u00e8res inertes dans une \u00ab soupe primitive \u00bb. Pourtant, la loi de la biogen\u00e8se, \u00e9tablie par Louis Pasteur, stipule clairement que <\/span>la vie ne provient que de la vie<\/span><\/i> (Omne vivum ex vivo). Or, personne n\u2019a jamais observ\u00e9 la mati\u00e8re morte s\u2019organiser en vie. Les scientifiques Francis Crick (cod\u00e9couvreur de l\u2019ADN) ou encore Fred Hoyle ont eux-m\u00eames reconnu que l\u2019id\u00e9e qu\u2019une cellule vivante ait pu surgir par hasard d\u2019une combinaison chimique est statistiquement impossible.<\/span><\/p>

Contrairement \u00e0 ce hasard aveugle, Gen\u00e8se 1 d\u00e9crit un ordre pr\u00e9cis, o\u00f9 Dieu cr\u00e9e chaque chose selon son esp\u00e8ce et lui donne une valeur et un r\u00f4le : la lumi\u00e8re s\u00e9par\u00e9e des t\u00e9n\u00e8bres, les astres pour rythmer le temps, les animaux selon leur esp\u00e8ce, et enfin l\u2019homme et la femme cr\u00e9\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019image de Dieu. Il y a une intention, une progression logique, un ordre parfait \u2013 l\u2019inverse du chaos al\u00e9atoire.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Les cha\u00eenons manquants toujours manquants<\/h2>\t\t\t\t

Si l\u2019\u00e9volution \u00e9tait un processus continu et graduel, les archives fossiles devraient regorger de millions de formes interm\u00e9diaires. Mais ce que l\u2019on observe, comme l\u2019avoue l\u2019\u00e9volutionniste Stephen Jay Gould, ce n\u2019est pas une progression graduelle, mais des apparitions soudaines d\u2019esp\u00e8ces pleinement form\u00e9es suivies de longues p\u00e9riodes de stabilit\u00e9. Les fameux \u00ab cha\u00eenons manquants \u00bb n\u2019ont jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 trouv\u00e9s, malgr\u00e9 plus d\u2019un si\u00e8cle de recherches acharn\u00e9es.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Cette complexit\u00e9 t\u00e9moigne d’une intelligence bien sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle de l’homme. Dieu, dans Sa sagesse infinie, a con\u00e7u chaque d\u00e9tail avec un but pr\u00e9cis. Comme Il le rappela \u00e0 Job pour lui montrer la limite de la compr\u00e9hension humaine :<\/span><\/p>

\u00ab O\u00f9 \u00e9tais-tu quand je fondais la terre ? […] As-tu seulement command\u00e9 \u00e0 la pluie depuis ta vie ? […] Qui a creus\u00e9 des canaux pour les orages, et trac\u00e9 la route de l’\u00e9clair et du tonnerre, pour arroser des terres sans habitants, un d\u00e9sert o\u00f9 il n’y a pas un homme, pour abreuver les solitudes arides et faire germer des prairies verdoyantes ?<\/span><\/i> (Job 38:4, 25-27, BFC)<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Ce passage ne montre pas un Dieu qui laisse le hasard et la s\u00e9lection naturelle tout configurer. Au contraire, il r\u00e9v\u00e8le un Cr\u00e9ateur attentif qui pourvoit m\u00eame aux besoins des terres inhabit\u00e9es. Si Dieu prend autant de soin \u00e0 pourvoir \u00e0 des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes que personne n’observe, \u00e0 plus forte raison a-t-il con\u00e7u avec une intentionnalit\u00e9 parfaite les syst\u00e8mes complexes qui permettent la vie elle-m\u00eame. Chaque \u00e9l\u00e9ment de la cr\u00e9ation, du plus grand au plus petit, porte la signature d’un Concepteur divin dont la science et l’ing\u00e9nierie d\u00e9passent infiniment notre entendement.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

La complexit\u00e9 irr\u00e9ductible<\/h2>\t\t\t\t

Des syst\u00e8mes comme l'\u0153il, l'oreille interne, le flagelle bact\u00e9rien ou la coagulation sanguine sont faits de multiples parties interd\u00e9pendantes. En retirer une seule les rend inutiles. Comment un m\u00e9canisme aussi complexe aurait-il pu \u00e9merger par petites \u00e9tapes successives, chacune devant \u00eatre imm\u00e9diatement avantageuse ? M\u00eame Darwin avouait que si un organe complexe ne pouvait pas se former par \u00ab petites modifications successives \u00bb, sa th\u00e9orie \u00ab s\u2019\u00e9croulerait \u00bb. Karl Popper, philosophe des sciences \u00e9minent, a initialement class\u00e9 le darwinisme comme une \u00ab m\u00e9taphysique de recherche \u00bb plut\u00f4t que comme une th\u00e9orie scientifique testable, car elle manquait selon lui de falsifiabilit\u00e9. Bien qu\u2019il ait plus tard nuanc\u00e9 son propos, il maintint que la s\u00e9lection naturelle \u00e9tait \u00ab un programme de recherche m\u00e9taphysique \u00bb (La Connaissance objective, 1972).<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Dans Darwin's Black Box (1996), il affirme : \u00ab Le flagelle bact\u00e9rien ne fonctionne pas si vous retirez ne serait-ce qu'une seule de ses pi\u00e8ces.
